Wanaque Borough is a special place. It is home to families who work hard, care deeply about this community, and want a town government that does the same. I am running for mayor because I believe too many residents have felt ignored, frustrated, and shut out for far too long.
This campaign is about restoring trust, protecting the character of our town, and making sure the people of Wanaque and Haskell have a real voice in the decisions that shape our future.
These are the issues at the heart of my campaign.
Transparent Leadership
I believe the people of Wanaque Borough deserve a government that communicates openly, acts honestly, and remembers that it works for the public.
For too long, too many residents have felt shut out of important decisions or left trying to piece together information after the fact. That is not how local government should work. Residents should not have to chase down basic information or wonder what is happening behind closed doors.
To me, transparent leadership means sharing agendas in a timely manner, making meetings more accessible, communicating clearly and consistently with the public, and treating resident input as an important part of the process—not an inconvenience. It means openness, accountability, and a willingness to answer hard questions directly.
If elected mayor, I will work to ensure that residents know what decisions are being made, why they are being made, and how those decisions will affect everyday life in Wanaque and Haskell.
Smart Growth
I believe in progress—but not the kind that overwhelms our roads, burdens our schools, and changes the character of our town beyond recognition.
Wanaque Borough needs leadership that understands the difference between smart, thoughtful growth and overdevelopment that puts pressure on every part of daily life. We have all seen the effects: more traffic, more congestion, and more strain on the community many of us chose because it offered something different.
Smart growth means planning carefully and thinking long term. It means asking whether a project truly benefits residents, whether the infrastructure can support it, and whether the cost to the town’s character is too high. It means protecting the natural beauty, the water supply, charm, and livability of Wanaque and Haskell while supporting the kind of economic activity that strengthens the community instead of overwhelming it.
I support responsible development that makes sense for our town and serves the people who already live here. I do not support growth for growth’s sake, and I do not believe residents should be the ones left to live with the consequences of poor planning.
Real Fiscal Responsibility
The people of Wanaque Borough deserve leadership that treats their tax dollars with care, discipline, and respect.
Families are expected to live within their means, ask hard questions about spending, and make responsible financial decisions. Our local government should be doing the same. Residents have every right to expect thoughtful budgeting, controlled spending, and full accountability for how public money is used.
To me, real fiscal responsibility means taking a hard look at borough spending, identifying waste, controlling unnecessary costs, and making sure taxpayer dollars are being used wisely and effectively. It also means being honest with residents. I will not make empty promises or pretend there are easy answers. But I will commit to asking the right questions, demanding clear answers, and making financial information more visible and understandable to the public.
I also want to make sure we take full advantage of every grant opportunity and available resource at the county, state, and federal levels.
Fiscal responsibility is about more than numbers on a spreadsheet. It is about respecting the people who work hard, pay taxes, and deserve to know that their money is being managed carefully.
Closing
I am running for mayor because I believe Wanaque Borough can do better. We can have leadership that is more open and responsive to you. We can make decisions more thoughtfully. We can protect the things that make this town worth loving while building a stronger future for the next generation.
I would be honored to earn your trust, your support, and your vote.
